Balloons make everything better

Life doesn't always run smoothly. Cards can be used for so many different purposes. To celebrate, to send sympathy, to congratulate, to send wishes or even just to say hello. Sometimes we get caught up with big occasions that we forget that people may need a pick-me-up when things aren't going just right. Today's card is aimed at one of these moments of life.

My colours for the card centred around Crushed Curry and Basic Black. I added a few layers as I liked the look of a little crushed curry poking out between the whisper white and the basic black layer. My stampin' write markers were used to colour the balloons. Then a touch of Wink of Stella Glitter brush was added on top of the colours to add a little glimmer.

Today's card is being highlighted on Kylie Bertucci's blog. Please take the time to check out all the cards that are being highlighted this week and vote for your favourite two!

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop - Special Guest - Patty Bennett

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with our Special Guest stamper Patty Bennett.

This month we are excited to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) any project that has been created by Patty. We hope you find great inspiration from the projects.
You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Rosalie Desmond or may have come from the person previous to me.  Be sure to click on the person listed under me further down the page to continue your journey on this blog hop.

We are thrilled that Patty said yes to playing along with the Crazy Crafters this month.

With so many amazing projects to choose from it was hard to just choose one for inspiration. Then I came across one of her more recent cards and fell in love. So this is the one I have taken inspiration from today. In her blog post for this card, she has a Youtube video in which she explains how to make this easel card.

I love the layout and the double ribbon bow on this card, so I used these elements to create todays card.

I used the Picture Perfect stamp set from the 2016 Occasions catalogue. I just love this bird stamp from the set. You use different colours and layer it up to create your desired image. For this one I used a combination of basic grey, smoky slate and memento black to produce my image. The sentiment was stamped in versamark and heat embossed in silver.

I carried these colours through by using black and silver ribbon, and some silver thread behind the bird. The DSP (double sided paper) was from the Neutrals DSP stack, choosing the silver paper to tie in with the rest of the card.

A balloon or two for you #GDP023

It has been a few weeks since I have played along with the Global Design Project, what better time to jump back in with the theme: balloons!

Today I combined two of my favourite stamp sets - Party Wishes and Botanicals for you. Hope you like it.

I have added some bling by using rhinestones and the Wink of Stella glitter brush, to add some sparkle to someone's life.

If you get a chance, make sure you check out all the other entries for this weeks challenge.

For a wonderful friend...

Today had a play for the first time with the hearth and home thinlit dies. For those of you that don't know this is a cute little window die. It is fun and so easy to use.

I teamed it up with the Happy Home stamp set, for the images through the window and also the sentiment on this card. These two can either be brought separately or as a bundle in the 2016 Occasions Catalogue.
